Case Study
Home on a Range
Building a golf lifestyle brand with a distinct sense of place and enough flexibility to live on product.
01 / Challenge
The Challenge
Home on a Range needed to feel like more than a golf logo. The opportunity was to create an identity with personality—regional, relaxed, and recognizable—while making sure the brand could stretch across apparel, merchandise, and future product categories.
02 / Strategy
Strategic Direction
The identity system was built around a simple but ownable visual language: a flexible HR monogram, golf-ball-and-flag cues, a warm regional palette, and supporting motifs that reference the landscape without becoming overly literal. The goal was a system that could feel polished on a polo and still have enough character to build a lifestyle brand around.
03 / Build
What We Built
- Primary HR monogram with golf ball and flag
- Stacked and horizontal wordmarks
- Color system using slate blue, warm orange, dark green, taupe, and cream
- Black-and-white and simplified logo applications
- Apparel-ready identity system
- Repeat pattern featuring golf ball, flag, meadowlark, and rising sun motifs
04 / Impact
The Impact
The final system gives Home on a Range a recognizable foundation that can move from identity to merchandise without losing consistency. Instead of creating one logo and forcing it onto everything, the brand now has multiple marks and supporting elements designed for real-world product use.
05 / Takeaways
What This Project Shows
- Product brands need systems, not just logos.
- Regional character can be expressed subtly through color and motif.
